I went to the drag strip tonight, my first time ever drag racing. I only got 4 runs in because I didn't have a helmet, and they require one if your'e running 13.99 or better. 1st run: 14.054 at 101.47 mph, 2.444 60 ft and .834 rt
2nd: 13.57 at 102.97 mph, 2.184 60 ft and .723 rt
3rd: 15.7 at 99.83, 3.029 60 ft (oops) .542 rt
4th: 13.719 at 102.77, 2.254 60 ft and .589 rt. My third run i dumped the clutch too hard, and then had trouble getting to second gear. My trap speeds seem a little low, but my Stillen intake is a few years old, and I don't think the previous owner ever cleaned it (the intake is black, bought the car almost 2 months ago). A friend tried cleaning the intake some, but it needs replacing, I think it's probably hurting my power. My trans is also not shifting very smooth.. i want to try some mt90. The tires are no name brand 225's all around with maybe half tread (or less), so i was not hooking up very well, had some wheel hop too. I'm hoping with more practice and subframe spacers, new wheels/tires and new intake i can improve my times. any comments are welcome..
